Firefox’s tabbed browsing is wonderful but the base browser
provides limited control over how the tabs work. There are
several free extensions available that offer more tab
functionality but none gives full control. That’s why, until
recently, I used three tab extensions to get what I wanted:
TabBrowser Preferences, Tab Clicking Options and UndoCloseTab.
Following a suggestion from regular contributor Leib Moscovitz,
I’ve replaced all three with just one that does pretty well the
same thing as the other three combined. It’s called Tab Mix

XPlanner is a project planning and tracking tool for eXtreme Programming (XP) teams. If you are not familiar with XP software development practices, the links page contains pointers to relevant resources. To summarize the XP planning process, the customers pick the features to be added (user stories) to each development iteration (typically, one to three weeks in duration). The developers estimate the effort to complete the stories either at the story level or by decomposing the story into tasks and estimating those. Information about team development velocity from the previous iteration is used to estimate if the team can complete the stories proposed by the customer. If the team appears to be overcommitted, the set of stories are renegotiated with the customer. The XPlanner tool was created to support this process and address issues experienced in a long-term real-life XP project.

Process Patrol – advanced process manager – auto termination

Process Patrol is a process manager with the ability to handle annoying programs that keep restarting themselves, even after they are terminated. Unlike regular TaskManagers, it kills the process and then immediately renames the file, so that additional attempts to relaunch the file will fail. It provides a task manager that shows currently running processes and allows you to mark selected items as safe, or add them to the Stop List. The program can run in the background and scan your running processes every X minutes. If a Stop List item is found running, it will stop it and automatically rename the process for a specified time period (then restore the original name).
