Protected Storage Pass View – see contents of Windows Protected Storage

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html

Protected Storage PassView is a small utility that reveals the passwords stored on your computer by Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and MSN Explorer. The passwords are revealed by reading the information from the Protected Storage.

Starting from version 1.60, this utility reveals all AutoComplete strings stored in Internet Explorer, not only the AutoComplete password, as in the previous versions.

This utility can show Outlook passwords, AutoComplete passwords in Internet Explorer (Pre IE7 only, see IE PassView for IE7+), Password-protected sites in Internet Explorer, and MSN Explorer Passwords.

This utility can only show the passwords of the current logged-on user. It cannot reveal the passwords of other users.

ShareWatch – see who is connected to a computer and what files they are accessing

http://stevemiller.net/ShareWatch/

ShareWatch allows you to see who is connected to a computer and what files they are accessing. Have you ever wondered why your hard drive or modem is active, but you aren't doing anything to cause it to be active?  It is possible a remote user is accessing your computer.  Have you ever had a file locked but you don't know why? ShareWatch can tell you if a network user is using the file and allows you to disconnect them so that you can edit/delete the file.  Have you ever wanted to shutdown a computer, but don't want to drop people using the computer.  ShareWatch will show you all resources in use by remote users.

Here are some features of ShareWatch…

    * Watch shares on local and remote servers.
    * Shows the users and computers that are connected to each share, along with what files are open.
    * Allows you to disconnect any file, user, computer, or share.
    * Address book lookup to show you the details about each user connected (this feature is turned off by default)
    * Computer lookup to show you both the computer name and IP address of the computers connected.
    * Can be run as a tray application.
    * Supports top-most and transparency.
    * Works on Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista.
    * Multithreaded to allow servers to be queried independently from each other while not blocking each other or the user interface

DeltaCopy – Rsync for Windows

http://www.aboutmyip.com/AboutMyXApp/DeltaCopy.jsp

In general terms, DeltaCopy is an open source, fast incremental backup program. Let’s say you have to backup one file that is 500 MB every night. A normal file copy would copy the entire file even if a few bytes have changed. DeltaCopy, on the other hand, would only copy the part of file that has actually been modified. This reduces the data transfer to just a small fraction of 500 MB saving time and network bandwidth.

In technical terms, DeltaCopy is a “Windows Friendly” wrapper around the Rsync program, currently maintained by Wayne Davison. “rsync” is primarily designed for Unix/Linux/BSD systems. Although ports are available for Windows, they typically require downloading Cygwin libraries and manual configuration.

Avidemux – free video editor

http://www.avidemux.org/

Imagine an application which does everything VirtualDub can do, but runs on various platforms, supports a lot of containers, comes with all Codecs you need built-in and doesn´t use the nasty VfW interface. That applications is Avidemux!

Avidemux is a free video editor designed for simple cutting, filtering and encoding tasks. It´s graphical user interface looks pretty similar to VirtualDub and most features known from VirtualDub are available too. Avidemux supports a great number of file types, such as AVI, MPEG/VOB/TS , MP4, ASF, OGM, MKV and FLV. At the same time it supports a wide range of Video and Audio formats, including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 ASP, H.264/AVC, DV, HuffYUV, MP3, AAC, AC-3 and Vorbis. Tasks can be automated using projects, job queue and powerful scripting capabilities. Video-DVD or (S)VCD compliant streams can be created with easy-to-use "Auto" wizards.

DriverPacks – huge collection of drivers for windows xp

http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/

Mike Tech Show

I've started these DriverPacks because I wanted to achieve a Uniform UXPCD. Why in the world would you want support for all available hardware, I hear you thinking. Well, that's easy to explain: to be able to use these unattended Windows XP installation CD's on any computer (of course one that's capable of running Windows XP).

So in that thread at MSFN.org I asked how I could do that. Of course people were laughing at me (a quote: "I think you'd be naive to think you'd be able to fit the (latest) drivers of every device made since XP was launched, on the one cd").

After a while I decided to just try it, and I started the DriverPack Sound. It was a hell to get it fully working, but the positive feedback kept me continuing. Later DriverPack LAN was added and also DriverPack MassStorage (this last one was started by RyanVM). In January '05 I released DriverPack WLAN, which contains about 250 drivers (at that time)! This one has without a doubt the largest collection until now. In February, DriverPack Graphics has become available. This one has been split into three parts: A, B and C. DriverPack Graphics A supports the ATI Radeon series and the nVidia GeForce and GeForce Go series (current low-, mid- and high- end GPU's), while DP Graphics B supports the older and rather exotic graphics cards. DriverPack Graphics C contains the drivers for the professional GPU's: ATI's and nVidia's Quadro series. DriverPack Chipset has also been added to the list! DriverPack Sound has also been split into two parts (A and B) because of its size. DriverPack CPU, a tiny DriverPack, contains the AMD K8 CPU drivers. This (nearly) completes the circle: all important device drivers are now available in the form of DriverPacks!

Each of these DriverPacks support the widest variety of controllers in their category: even brands of whom you've never heard are included! At the moment there is support for hundreds of devices (Chipset, Graphics (A, B and C), LAN, MassStorage, Sound (A and B) and WLAN).

SysRestorePoint – create System Restore Point

http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_sysrestorepoint.htm

Mike Tech Show

SysRestorePoint.exe is a small VB utility that will allow you to create a System Restore Point, with no user intervention.

There are now two versions:

v1.0 – When run automatically creates the Restore Point with no dialogs or notifications, unless there is a problem creating the Restore Point.

v1.1 – Displays a dialog while the Restore Point is being created, and a dialog will show that the Restore Point was successfully created or not.  If it was successful, the dialog will automatically dismiss after 5 seconds.

v1.2 – Modified to work with Windows Vista.

Usage:  Download the appropriate file and extract the contents to your hard drive.  Create a shortcut to the EXE that you extracted.  This shortcut can be placed in your Start Menu, on your Desktop or even your Quick Launch bar.  To run this utility every time the system starts, simply place a shortcut in Documents and SettingsAll UsersStart MenuProgramsStartup folder.  Restore Points are listed in the System Restore Calendar as "Automatic Restore Point" along with the time it was created.

SendTo FTP

http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Garage/7334/SndToFTP.html

The easiest way I've yet seen to upload files to your web site–just right-click a file, select Send To**SendTo FTP, and click OK.

If you manage a web site, you probably upload files to Internet servers via FTP.

Peili Chen's SendTo FTP makes this chore about as simple as it gets. Just right-click a file (or a selected group of files), and select Send To**SendTo FTP. A dialog box will let you define a destination or pick an already defined one, and up your file(s) go.

SendTo FTP hasn't been updated in several years, and we could not successfully contact Peili Chen, but the program still works. We noted some problems with Vista, which wasn't around when the program was last updated, but nothing serious.
