AltTab Mouse-use mouse for alt-tab appication switching

http://cybernetnews.com/2008/02/24/alttab-mouse-shortcut/

What this standalone (no-install needed) application does is execute the Ctrl+Alt+Tab key combination when you press and hold the left mouse button, and then press the right mouse button. The Alt+Tab application switcher will appear on the screen until you click on one of the windows that you want to switch to:

 AltTab Mouse

This should work in any version of Windows that supports the Alt+Tab key combination, and it can easily be set to start with Windows by placing it in your Startup folder located in the Start Menu. You’ll know this is running when you see the Vista-like orb in the System Tray, and you can temporarily disable the functinoality by right-clicking on the icon. Enjoy!

Clonezilla-Open source HardDrive backup and recovery

http://clonezilla.sourceforge.net/

Clonezilla, based on DRBL, Partition Image, ntfsclone, and udpcast, allows you to do bare metal backup and recovery. Two types of Clonezilla are available, Clonezilla live and Clonezilla server edition. Clonezilla live is suitable for single machine backup and restore. While Clonezilla server edition is for massive deployment, it can clone many (40 plus!) computers simultaneously. Clonezilla saves and restores only used blocks in the harddisk. This increases the clone efficiency. At the NCHC's Classroom C, Clonezilla server edition was used to clone 41 computers simultaneously. It took only about 10 minutes to clone a 5.6 GBytes system image to all 41 computers via multicasting!

Res-o-Matic-Change the resolution of a single program

http://www.bcheck.net/apps/#reso

esoHere at Inspect My Gadget, we have looked at a number of programs that change your screen resolution quickly and easily. We have also looked at using these resolution changing programs in batch files so that an individual program can load at a certain resolution. This method works quite well, but I have just come across a program that is much tidier and efficient at achieving this.

There are also special versions labeled "school," and "games" that come with more specialized applications. When you first run winPenPack you'll notice that most of the menus are in Italian, even if you manage to find the option to change the language to English. But you can also download a 44MB ZIP language pack. Once you unpack that file to your installation directory your menus should appear in English.

Notepad++ programmers source code editor

http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

Notepad++ is a free (free as in "free speech", but also as in "free beer") source code editor and Notepad replacement, which supports several programming languages, running under the MS Windows environment.

This project, based on the Scintilla edit component (a very powerful editor component), written in C++ with pure win32 api and STL (that ensures the higher execution speed and smaller size of the program), is under the GPL Licence.

This project is mature. However, as you can see it's a one-man-project, there are still some bugs and missing features. If you have any question or suggestion about this project, please post them on the forums. As well, if you have any feature requests, you can always make the demand, but there's no guarantee that I'll implement it.

You're encouraged to translate Notepad++ (if it is not present in the Download Section) and/or to translate the Notepad++ official site into your native language

System Protect enables you to protect important programs, documents and files from accidental or unauthorized deletion. It automatically protects all Windows system files and allows you to specify a list of custom files and folders that you want to protect as well. The program will intercept any attempted deletion or modification and either prompt you for authorization or automatically deny the action (depending on your settings). You can also disable the protection mode temporarily, which is useful when you are installing new software or system updates.

AutoVer-realtime or versioning backup

http://beanland.net.au/AutoVer/

AutoVer is a configurable automatic or real time backup and personal versioning system. It can be used as a simple real time backup or as a more complex version control system. The beauty of this system is that once you set it up (which is extremely simple) it does everything. No remembering to backup or to check in or check out files. Every time you save a file it is copied to your backup folder or drive. You can include and exclude certain files and browse the backups with the Backup Explorer.
Great for backing up (or one way syncronising) your work or home documents to flash memory or saving every change you make to your source code or image files.
