BackLINQ-LINQ to Objects framework 2

http://code.google.com/p/backlinq/

BackLINQ allows applications written in C# 3.0, but which need to target .NET Framework 2.0 and/or 3.x, to reap the benefits and expressivity of LINQ to Objects and lambda expressions.
The Short of BackLINQ

Once you've gotten used to expressing queries on objects using LINQ, it's hard to go back and write them in an imperative and verbose style. Some folks may still need to target .NET Framework 2.0 and with the multi-targeting capability of Visual Studio 2008, it is possible to continue to use C# 3.0 without requiring users to install .NET Framework 3.5 (which is required to use LINQ to Objects). This is where BackLINQ comes in.

Open-AudIT-audit your network

http://www.open-audit.org/

Open-AudIT is an application to tell  you exactly what is on your network, how it is configured and when it changes. Open-AudIT will run on Windows and Linux systems. Essentially, Open-AudIT is a database of information, that can be queried via a web interface. Data about the network is inserted via a Bash Script (Linux) or VBScript (Windows). The entire application is written in php, bash and vbscript. These are all 'scripting' languages – no compiling with viewable source. Making changes and customisations is both quick and easy.

Fog-Linux-based hard disk cloning solution

http://www.fogproject.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=25&Itemid=36

Fog is a Linux-based, free and open source computer imaging solution for Windows XP and Vista that ties together a few open-source tools with a php-based web interface. Fog doesn't use any boot disks, or CDs; everything is done via TFTP and PXE. Also with fog many drivers are built into the kernel, so you don't really need to worry about drivers (unless there isn't a linux kernel module for it). Fog also supports putting an image that came from a computer with a 80GB partition onto a machine with a 40GB hard drive as long as the data is less than 40GB.Fog also includes a graphical Windows service that is used to change the hostname of the PC, restart the computer if a task is created for it, and auto import hosts into the FOG database. The service also installs printers, and does simple snap-ins.

winsupermaximize – super maximize active window

http://code.google.com/p/winsupermaximize/

A tiny Windows utility that "super maximizes" (ie removes the title bar from) the active window. Like "Full Screen" (F11) in IE, but for any window.  This is a tiny utility that will add an icon in the notification area of the Windows taskbar. When you double-click on the icon, it will resize the currently active window so the title bar is actually above the screen boundaries, thus saving those extra pixels that you don't want to waste. This is a bit like the "Full Screen" view in IE or Firefox when you press F11, but for any window. When you double-click on it again it will bring back the window to its original size and position. It also adds a shortcut (Windows key+F11) that does that.
Limitations:

  • Currently works only if you set up your taskbar as "auto-hide". If you don't, the lower part of the window will actually be behind the taskbar.
  • Multi-monitor setup is not supported (the window will always be supermaximized on the main monitor even if it was on a secondary monitor).
  • Tested only under Windows XP.

Note: this is actually an AutoHotkey script, compiled into an executable file.
Notice: the license field here on Google Code says "Apache License 2.0", but this is actually public domain; I just don't know how to choose a license that is not one of the 8 that Google Code gives…

MouseShade – turn on presentation spotlight

http://www.fxc.btinternet.co.uk/software.htm

MouseShade is an essential tool for everyone doing presentations or demos. If turned on, it dims the screen and puts a spotlight on the area around the mouse pointer, easily guiding the audiences attention to an area of interest. The shape of the spotlight, the colour of the shade and the opacity of the shade can all be varied by accessing the pop up menu available from the icon in the Taskbar, simply by right clicking.
All options set are saved when the application closes, ready for the next time you use it. When in use, the shade can be minimised, giving a clear view of the whole screen, and can then be reactivated when you need to highlight a specific part of the screen by clicking the Show option on the menu.

TNValidate – .NET Fluent Validation Library

http://tnvalidate.codeplex.com/

TNValidate is a fluent validation library for .Net. It enables you to write validation
logic in a way that somewhat resembles natural language. This is not only intended to
make it a little easier for developers to scan, but also means non-programmers have a
better chance of being able to understand and modify the constraints being placed on
data.

TNValidate collects together validation failures and has a default set of error messages,
which you can present to end users. Currently we support English and Swedish language;
if you want something else, see the section on adding languages. However, often you will
want to customize the error that is given to the end user for a specific failure, which
is made quick and easy too.

Finally, TNValidate is open source, made available under the MIT license. This enables
you to use it in your free or non-free software, and does not obligate you to contribute
back any changes. However, if you are in an environment where you are allowed to do so,
contributions are welcome (especially in the area of adding support for more languages).

Bacula-The Open Source Network Backup Solution

http://www.bacula.org/en/

If you are currently using a program such as tar, dump, or bru to backup your computer data, and you would like a network solution, more flexibility, or catalog services, Bacula will most likely provide the additional features you want. However, if you are new to Unix systems or do not have offsetting experience with a sophisticated backup package, the Bacula project does not recommend using Bacula as it is much more difficult to setup and use than tar or dump.
If you want Bacula to behave like the above mentioned simple programs and write over any tape that you put in the drive, then you will find working with Bacula difficult. Bacula is designed to protect your data following the rules you specify, and this means reusing a tape only as the last resort. It is possible to "force" Bacula to write over any tape in the drive, but it is easier and more efficient to use a simpler program for that kind of operation.

If you would like a backup program that can write to multiple volumes (i.e. is not limited by your tape drive capacity), Bacula can most likely fill your needs. In addition, quite a number of Bacula users report that Bacula is simpler to setup and use than other equivalent programs.

If you are currently using a sophisticated commercial package such as Legato Networker. ARCserveIT, Arkeia, or PerfectBackup+, you may be interested in Bacula, which provides many of the same features and is free software available under the GNU Version 2 software license.

http://www.joejoesoft.com/cms/showpage.php?cid=135

MouseWrangler is a freeware utility for performing mouse gestures. MouseWrangler monitors the mouse while Right-Click is held and keeps track of the movements made. When a set of movements is made, called a "gesture", an action is performed.
