Jello Dashboard-Outlook GTD – Getting Things Done Todo Manager

http://www.jello-dashboard.net/?page_id=27

Jello Dashboard. A homebrew project started on August 2006 for using Getting Things Done (GTD) in Microsoft Outlook®.
Getting things done

GTD is a brilliant time-management practice and a part of its greatness lies within its do-it-yourself nature with no specific or expensive tools required for practicing it. You can GTD using a pack of cards, a standard organizer, a PDA or a cell phone, a notebook or plain paper and folders. And this is exactly the point where the whole thing gets complicated and overwhelming for lots of users. That’s the reason there is a great number of GTD applications out there for every operating system and taste.
Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook® is a popular and powerful email and time management application (especially in the corporal world) with lots of potential into the GTD field but without any implemented solutions except for the official add-in from the David Allen company which is considered to be relatively incomplete by many users.

So, I have decided to implement a new solution taking advantage of an overlooked ability of Microsoft Outlook®. The web-enabled homepage.
The application

Using pure HTML code and javascript I have developed a mini system which, despite of some security restrictions of the Outlook object model, worked just fine for managing my personal tasks without reluctantly leaving my favorite email application. Using Jello.Dashboard you can manage your lists, ticklers, next actions and view important aspects of your system just in one homepage. The application itself does not require a standard windows-installation process with registry keys and dlls (although there is the option of a downloadable installer) giving you the advantage of using it with locked down computers since the core components are just HTML pages and javascript code! Jello.Dashboard is an open source project with a growing community of users constantly under development and free of charge

Pazera Free FLV to AVI Converter

http://www.pazera-software.com/products/flv-to-avi-converter/

Pazera Free FLV to AVI Converter is an absolutely free application that converts Flash Video files (FLV, SWF) into AVI or MPG (MPEG-1, MPEG-2).FLV files are commonly used in the Internet by YouTube, Google Video and other video services. That files are not supported by Windows Media Player and other popular media players. To display FLV video you need to convert that file into more reliable format, such as AVI or MPG.
The program has a number of predefined settings (profiles) specially designed for novice users. While more advanced users can customize video and audio encoding parameters used by encoder: audio and video codec, audio and video bitrate, fps, sampling frequency, resolution, volume and other.

The Pazera Free FLV to AVI Converter interface is a very simple and user-friendly. To convert flash video files, just drag & drop them into main window and click CONVERT button. If the video quality is poor, increase video bitrate.

ReClock DirectShow Filter-get rid of jerky playback of AVI and MPEG material

http://reclock.free.fr/

The purpose of ReClock is to definitely get rid of jerky playback of AVI and MPEG material on a PC (or a HTPC driving a TV, a flat panel, or a video-projector). It's a DirectShow filter which is loaded in place of the default directsound audio renderer.
It provides a new reference clock that is locked to the video card hardware clock, in order to ensure that frames are played at the exact speed of what is expected by the video card vertical sync.
It also provides a frame rate adaptator for media files that do not match a multiple of the video card refresh rate (ex: playback of 23,976fps IVTC NTSC on a PAL TV).
The combination of the two will give you the true experience of smooth playback with your PC.
Finally it is an audio renderer with hardware or software rate adaptation in real-time, multi-channel audio, audio timestretching (pal speedup compensation) and dynamic range compression capabilities.
For a full description of ReClock, please read carefully the README file in the distribution. There is also a little FAQ at the bottom of the page that answers common questions.

MagicCalc – full function fullscreen graphic calculator

http://www.magiccalc.net/magiccalc/index.htm

MagicCalc is a full functions fullscreen graphic calculator. This is a Windows Software, not a Hardware. I started this project since year 2000 to create something special and usefull for students.

The project is at 70% finishion state (some functions are not yet functional, ex. arcsinhyp…),and many bugs are not yet fixed however you can download the project as it is. I am working on to prepare a final clean version soon.

The project is based on full Oriented Object Programming C++ Code on OpenGL Graphic Interface. I estimate the full free clean release will be ready by January 2010. It's is composed by :

    * Console window for input/output, and calculus operations;
    * 2D graphic window for 2D functions and 2D parametric functions;
    * 3D graphic window for 3D functions and 3D parametric functions;
    * Full bitmap fonts based text editor to edit programs;
    * Mathematical expression parser module; Full pascal interpreter module.

I have done this project for me as a training lab for many aspects of advanced programming topics (OO Design, OO Programming, Parsers, Mathematical Expression Parsers, Compilers, Graphic programming).

I project the basic system (Integration of the all functions) in about 2 months. Then, I will devote my time to finish the pascal interpreter as it is at 70 % finishion state. The next step will be the integration of support of Degree and Grad angles mesurement, and Binary/Octal/Hex computations

SearchMyFiles -portable file search utility

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/search_my_files.html

SearchMyFiles is an alternative to the standard "Search For Files And Folders" module of Windows. It allows you to easily search files in your system by wildcard, by last modified/created/last accessed time, by file attributes, by file content (text or binary search), and by the file size. SearchMyFiles allows you to make a very accurate search that cannot be done with Windows search. For Example: You can search all files created in the last 10 minutes with size between 500 and 700 bytes.
After you made a search, you can select one or more files, and save the list into text/html/csv/xml file, or copy the list to the clipboard.

SearchMyFiles is portable, and you can use it from a USB flash drive without leaving traces in the Registry of the scanned computer.

CCCalc is a freeware calculator that combines ease of use of desktop check-n-correct calculator and power of spreadsheet applications.

It performs four basic arithmetic operations: plus, minus, multiply and divide. It also provides full set of percent calculations as most of desktop calculators, simply add "%" symbol to the end of an appropriate number.

All calculations are performed in a true decimal form, that means that you will get exactly the same results as if you calculate with a paper and pencil. It also provides unlimited precision so you can use hundreds of digits in your numbers if you need so.

To simplify complicated calculations CCCalc features full set of operations with memory. You may not only add or subtract but also multiply or divide memory with a given number. Number of memory slots is practically unlimited and they are visible and even editable.

User interface of CCCalc makes its use very convenient. It displays many lines of calculations to help you to navigate in a complicated formula or to find a misprint if any. It automatically stores all calculations until you delete them yourself. It allows to browse through the whole calculations history and easily correct errors or reuse numbers and expressions. You may also exchange data with other Windows applications via clipboard or mouse drag-drop.

User Profile Hive Cleanup service- Speeds up Logon – Logoff process

http://www.microsoft.com

The User Profile Hive Cleanup service helps to ensure user sessions are completely terminated when a user logs off. System processes and applications occasionally maintain connections to registry keys in the user profile after a user logs off. In those cases the user session is prevented from completely ending. This can result in problems when using Roaming User Profiles in a server environment or when using locked profiles as implemented through the Shared Computer Toolkit for Windows XP.

On Windows 2000 you can benefit from this service if the application event log shows event id 1000 where the message text indicates that the profile is not unloading and that the error is "Access is denied". On Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 either event ids 1517 and 1524 indicate the same profile unload problem.

To accomplish this the service monitors for logged off users that still have registry hives loaded. When that happens the service determines which application have handles opened to the hives and releases them. It logs the application name and what registry keys were left open. After this the system finishes unloading the profile.

MANDIANT Memoryze – free memory forensic software

http://www.mandiant.com/software/memoryze.htm

MANDIANT Memoryze is free memory forensic software that helps incident responders find evil in live memory. Memoryze can acquire and/or analyze memory images, and on live systems can include the paging file in its analysis.

MANDIANT Memoryze can:

    * image the full range of system memory (not reliant on API calls).
    * image a process’ entire address space to disk. This includes a process’ loaded DLLs, EXEs, heaps, and stacks.
    * image a specified driver or all drivers loaded in memory to disk.
    * enumerate all running processes (including those hidden by rootkits). For each process, Memoryze can:
o report all open handles in a process (for example, all files, registry keys, etc.).
o list the virtual address space of a given process including:
                + displaying all loaded DLLs.
+ displaying all allocated portions of the heap and execution stack.
o list all network sockets that the process has open, including any hidden by rootkits.
o output all strings in memory on a per process basis.
    * identify all drivers loaded in memory, including those hidden by rootkits.
    * report device and driver layering, which can be used to intercept network packets, keystrokes and file activity.
    * identify all loaded kernel modules by walking a linked list.
    * identify hooks (often used by rootkits) in the System Call Table, the Interrupt Descriptor Tables (IDTs), and driver function tables (IRP tables).

InstEd – MSI Editor alternative to Microsoft's Orca

http://www.instedit.com/home

InstEd makes working with files fast and easy.  If you use Orca, you will love InstEd. If you use some of the more expensive tools, you may find that InstEd makes you more productive for the bread and butter packaging tasks.

    * Build cabs from the Media table.  Right click a Media table entry to see the files belonging to that cab, or to rebuild the cab.
    * Multi-file editing using tabs. Built from the ground up to handle multiple files, everything from searching to validation can be applied to more than one file at a time.
    * Easy navigation. All relationships within the database are displayed and clickable for easy navigation.
    * Accurate editing. Changes to a field are optionally cascaded to all dependent fields. So, for example, renaming a component can have all references updated.
    * Change highlighting. All changes to an mst are highlighted. Msi files can be compared to highlight the differences. And by comparing an msi to itself while the msi is being edited, change tracking can be performed on an msi.
    * Easy validation. Validation profiles allow full flexibility to apply ICEs from more than one CUB to many files at once, allowing for easy Quality Assurance of many files at once.

Multi Monitor Mouse

http://graphics.cs.columbia.edu/projects/m3/index.html

Multi Monitor Mouse (M3) widget allows you to warp  your pointer across the monitor bezel (see figure) and thus speed up your interactions!M3 allows for conventional control of the mouse within each monitor's screen, while permitting immediate warping across monitors when desired to increase mouse traversal speed.
M3 virtually simulates having one mouse pointer per monitor when using a single physical mouse device.

M3 is particularly beneficial in heterogeneous multi-monitor setups where monitors differ in size, resolution, orientation and distance to the user.

Our initial users report both strong preference for pointer warping and substantial increase in productivity (up to 29% faster targeting with a standard 5-button mouse)!
